The Brief
Cavendish Canines originally approached us with an outdated website, we performed an audit and explained how to improve. Later, they came back to us and discussed the possibility of launching a new, bespoke website with Tech Dream. They required a place to advertise their glowing 5-star reviews and wonderful photography. Their aim isn't to grow the business, but they still needed a place for their current customers to visit to see their dog's holiday photos.
The Challenge
The biggest challenge was that Cavendish Canines' old website was very outdated, so we knew transferring material across to the new website could prove difficult.
Also, the new website's speed was a concern. With an image centric design, including an image gallery, this could cause a decrease in search engine results. Google and Bing favour websites that are faster.
Our Task
Firstly, we carried out an audit of Cavendish Canine's old website. This provided them with an in-depth report surrounding the website's issues with page speed, outdated code and suboptimal SEO.
Once Cavendish Canines opted for a new website we built their brand. Designing a new colour scheme that represents trust. We decided upon this colour scheme as dog owners are going to need to trust that Cavendish Canines will take good care of their pups. Since Cavendish Canines only needed a simple website, some basic research was carried out, then we moved onto design and development of the website.
Finally, working on the SEO. We focused heavily on geographic keywords. With a business like this almost all of your customers are going to be within a 15-mile radius. Longtail keywords related to the North-East was critical to ensure the business ranked well.
The Results
The new Cavendish Canines website boasts quick loading speeds, an improved user experience and boasts the business' impressive 10 year history. Cavendish Canines were impressed with the result and have been working with us for 4+ years.
