The Brief
After Scatter Brian Blogs were recommended to us, we met and Brian told us he needed a revamped website that had cybersecurity in mind. After previous cyberattacks, this was high on the list of priorities. The website needed to rank highly on Google and Bing to draw in new readers to his engaging blog posts.
The Challenge
The first hurdle that we had to overcome was transferring the hundreds of blog posts and accompanying images.
Cybersecurity was our next concern. With Brian suffering cyberattacks previously we needed to ensure the website couldn't be accessed without authorisation.
Finally, making sure each blog post was ranking highly on search engines was going to be challenging when it wasn't an SEO professional creating the content.
Our Task
The first task was designing the website and transferring the blog posts and media. We used the WordPress importer tool for this and checked over the content to make sure it all transferred.
Once the website was complete. We worked on implementing Cloudflare WAF, 2-factor authentication and malware detection to improve the cybersecurity of the website, along with some other features.
Finally, we worked on the on-site SEO for Brian by ensuring pages and media were optimised for search. However, with Brian creating the blog posts himself, we needed to create a post template to ensure that every blog's HTML was structured to rank well.
The Results
The website is used on a near daily basis by Scatter Brian Blogs. It's become an incredibly useful tool for Brian to post his stories as he travels internationally. It ranks well, especially in Newcastle, helping to promote the website to new readers.Â
